Warning: Wrote it for Vocal class. May contain very corny and/or deep lines. Reader discretion is advised.

To some, music is just a mixture of frequencies, beats, and poetic lyrics; but to others like me, it is much more. Music is a hobby; Music is an escape; Music is a way of life. For me, music helps me get through the hard times, and keeps me laughing during the good times. Music has always been big for me, and I feel that it always will be.
I have grown up with music as a very large influence in my life. From a young age, I took interest to the piano. I have been pretending I know how to play the piano since I was five. I have tried many instruments in my life, but my most successful was probably the drums. It brought some of my best friends of all time and I very close and I’ll never forget the times we had together because of it. I have also for a long time used my voice to express music. Although I have self-esteem issues when it comes to my voice, I love using it.
Music has also for a long time been my escape from reality. It has been a place I can go where I make the rules, where I make the rhythms, and where I decide how everything sounds. In the world of music, things won’t be unexpected, disappoint me, or break my heart. It is my own personal fantasy world. I used to lay by my CD player for hours and listen to music. As I grew up I’d lay with my computer blasting music, and more recently, listen to my mp3 player for hours. I also love to play the piano with no one around but myself and poor my emotions into a song with my hands and my voice. Music is my distraction from life.
Music follows me everywhere in my life, and I believe music is a part of what makes a person who they are. I listen to music and interact with others who like music almost every second I am awake; and when we share opinions on music, we connect. Music is great for showing personality, emotions, and character. I feel it is much more than what people give it credit for, being just notes and rhythms.
Music is what you make of it. To some, it is just a scientific concept based upon frequencies and vibrations, but to people like me, it is an amazing thing that can make dreams and fantasies a reality.

Music is what you make of it.

I can very much agree with you on this sentence. The whole essay sort of describes me, except I know just sing. Fredy, I think for a guy who likes being porn, you really described music well. Reconsider? ;D >:(

I'm the same when it comes to music, though I only play two instruments - I sing and I play a bit of piano. I've always loved the way that music creates emotions. It encourages people to step out of the normal routine and be bizarre. In the words of Space Cowboy, from single 'Falling Down', "This is my life, and people try to shut me down. Put my music on, and those people don't make a sound. I'm in my own world."

My three favourite bands are Tokio Hotel, Cinema Bizarre and Evanescence. How about everyone else?
