Applications: Open

Welcome to the Partner Sites application thread. I'll try to keep this short and sweet.

To start things off, here are our mini-banners:

You may use any of the three (though we recommend that you use one of the latter two.) You may rehost them or hot link them as necessary. If you wish to create a Studio Zero mini-banner better suited for your forum's design, just ask us for approval on it. We're fairly open to this. :)

Next, the banner should link to either www.sz-ex.com or forum.sz-ex.com. It can be done via a redirect or however you wish.

Now, the full requirements.

1. You must have a good amount of content. If your site is a forum, you must have at least 10,000 posts visible to guests. Forum game boards, staff only boards, passworded boards, and hidden boards do not count towards this amount. If your site is a website, you must have a good amount of articles or resources. This amount will be decided by the staff of Studio Zero. If the site is a mixture of a forum and a website, the staff of Studio Zero will decide if you have enough content to pass our requirements. We will lower the post count requirement if you have good design/coding resources.

2. The content you provide must be of a decent level/quality and must be available to guests. This means, that a user must not be required to register to obtain the content. There is one exception, and that is full fledged forum or website templates since they require a large amount of work.

3. The design should be decent. Your website does not have to be beautiful or amazing, but the template/skin must be at least bearable. You may not be using a premade website or forum template, even if you have made significant changes. We're a design site and wish to affiliate with sites that have the ability to design their own template.

4. The website/forum must comply with the ProBoards Terms of Service, regardless of it being hosted on ProBoards. This is because we can not be affiliated with a site that doesn't pass the ProBoards Terms of Service agreement.

5. You must be a staff member of the website you are applying to have added as a partner site, preferably to the extent that you are able to add our mini-banner. It'd be best if you were an admin, though it is not a requirement.

6. You must add our mini-banner within 24 hours of being ACCEPTED as a partner site of Studio Zero. Sometimes we take a bit to review applications, so this is a grace period for your sake.

7. If you have too many other affiliate sites, we may deny you since we don't feel we will receive relatively equal exposure. "Too many" will vary on the site, but normally more than 28 affiliate sites will constitute too many. (Studio Zero strives to maintain 21 or less affiliate sites.)

When applying you must provide a link to your forum or website and link(s) to your mini-banner(s). We do allow multiple mini-banners to be shown in a random rotation, so feel free to provide more than one.

Thanks,

P.S. If you are not accepted as a partner site, you may still add our mini-banner if you wish. We gladly welcome any and all support to the Studio. :)

Vetting plugins and template for v5 is a learning process for the Studio Zero staff, so these guidelines are subject to change.

Last Updated: January 5th, 2014

1. The code must be created by you. This is fairly straight forward. Do not submit codes that are not yours. If the creator gives you permission, you may submit the code.

2. Code must not violate Terms of Service. This is fairly self-explanatory. The code must not violate the ProBoards Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.

3. Give a clear description of what the code does.  Previews are also always useful.

When in doubt, linking to the latest version on ProBoard's own library is always acceptable.

Requests for Non-ProBoards

Studio Zero is a ProBoards geared forum. Because of this, we only plan to offer request and support services for ProBoards. However, if you wish to request a code for a system other than ProBoards, you may. There is no guarantee that it will be filled however. :)

Posting Form

We don't require you to use a form when posting a request, but it would probably be a little easier on us if you did. As long as you provide the information you think is necessary, you're good. If you aren't sure, however, feel free to use this form:

[b]Code Name:[/b]
[b]Code Description:[/b]
[b]Board URL:[/b]
[b]Need it By:[/b]
[b]Details...[/b]

If you're asking for support, ask away. :) But remember, a forum URL if very helpful!

Read Before Requesting
The following rules must be followed with no exceptions. The strictness is to be fair and to help you in obtaining the code you seek, as long as it doesn't break the rules.

1. The following codes will not be made:
  • Currently everything will be made!

2. Keep in mind that this is done for free. We ask for very little in return, sometimes a thank you, sometimes a link, sometimes just a quick mention on your board somewhere. Whatever it is, please do that to make the specific coder happy. It isn't much that they're asking in exchange for making these codes for you.

While on the topic of free, coders aren't just here to serve your every need. We have lives too, and we are busy. We can't always script a code whenever you ask for it. Some take time, some are extremely hard, and all together, these require time. So please do not whine, moan, groan, etc. if your code takes a while to get done. We do our best to fill code request as fast as possible. Some coders also work from oldest to newest threads, so it hurts you to bump.

3. Make sure the thread title is specific to the code you ask for. Any threads with a title that has no relation to the code, shall be locked on sight. Meaning, none of those "help!" and "need code now!" titles. If you are requesting something for smilies, make the title something like "Code to add smilies?"

4. Be descriptive when asking for a code. List every detail, otherwise it'll take longer because we'll ask you what you want, or we'll improvise and it won't be close to what you want. When possible, using PhotoShop or MSPaint make a quick preview of what you want.

5. Don't bump unless the thread is 3 days old and nothing has been done, or unless the thread itself is on the second page of this board. If a coder has said they were going to code it, but never replied back, you may then bump if it has been at least 2 days.

The point of this thread, since it is the Studio's shop, is to cash in on your points. Post here to buy anything from the list, provided of course that you have the points. In addition, if you have a problem (think you deserve more points, glitches, etc.) that can be resolved here too. If you want more ways to spend/earn points, your suggestions will also be welcomed in this topic or our feedback board.

Now to clarify on ranks and member groups. You can create your own custom rank, exclusive to you and you only. You can also request a special member group, which, while more expensive, will enable other users to join at a lower cost, which would give incentive since it would be cheaper than designing your own rank. Every time someone joins your member group, however, you get 30 points added to your point total. You only get 15 points though if they switch to your member group from another. So you get points back for having people join your "alliance," so to speak.  Any group-related purchases can be split amongst members.

Now get to spending. We have a federal deficit and we need taxpayer points.

For reference, previous shop can be found here.

Please report any bugs as you find them.

Known Bugs
  • Too many pages in inbox causes spacing issues (http://forum.sz-ex.com/attachment/download/3)
  • Selected posts don't have anything to differentiate them.
  • There is a mouse hover over "Last Post" even though clicking it does nothing.
  • A liked, mobile post has an uneven line.
  • Joined date is split on two lines
  • Icon next to thread names overlap if two icons
  • Missing favicon
  • forum.sz-ex.com/user/9 [p:55] custom titles
  • Can't tell if in Preview or BBCode mode easily.
  • Should have a way to view achievements in order awarded
  • When viewing filtered board page, the filter icon's active state is weird.
  • No comma in total PM count if > 1000
  • Gender missing from mini-profile
  • Luci's eunuch gender isn't colored

Fixed Bugs
  • The recent_time class is removed from times on the main page, so recent times aren't bolded.
  • Achievement notification system is missing
  • ProNation members don't have their red stars (http://forum.sz-ex.com/user/1083)
  • Banned members don't have their black names
  • On the posting page, the "Add Poll" and similar buttons aren't vertically aligned with the subject box.
  • Use CSS to force resize signature images to 500px
  • The "new" icon next to threads gets the light-blue background highlight on hover.
  • Names in profiles aren't bolded for users
  • In certain threads, the last breadcrumb looks awkward.  Need to drop the last arrow.
  • In "Send Message," styles aren't applied properly to the options button
  • Sometimes name colors and styling don't take effect.
  • In the info center, sometimes there is a leftover comma after the last user online because of removed staff.

No, PB just finally started tracking the costs and we needed to renew. *shrugs* Anyways, paid. Should be done soon.

Night: what coding stopped working? It should not be dependent on the domain.

Really? Seriously? We've amassed -that- many posts?

I just wanna say thanks to all of you guys. :) You don't know how much this means to the staff of the Studio to see it still alive. When Joe originally sat down with an idea to create a design forum to replace Popoweb Productions, he never expected this to be the result. When Chris joined the team early in production, he never foresaw this results.

Time has continued to go on and on and the Studio has continued to grow more and more into a great community. There have been some hiccups in the past, but it all came to show what Studio Zero is and to build this community.

Once again, from all the staff, current and former, we want to say thank you for helping Studio Zero become what it is today.

P.S. I have been handed a note that mentions something about a "v3" and the words "in production"? Hmm... well, it is probably just someone trying to mess with my head. Maybe they forgot a "not" in there?
