The twirl effect - by //elite.bean AKA 4rensick
Before you ask why all the images say //elite.bean, NO i did not rip this tutorial, it is another username i use, quite often, and for the forum i made this tutorial for that is the username i use
. and if your really that lame and dont belive me i can give you proof just pm me
It helps to have a basic understanding of how photoshop works to do this tutorial.
Preview:
1.open a new document (crtl+n) make it what ever size you want,works best with smaller squares though.
2.press D to reset your colours.
3.a)rename your first layer "oringinal" (right click, layer properties)
b)go to filter > render > clouds
4.a)now duplicate this layer (ctrl+j)
b)rename the duplicate "111" (right click, layer properties)
c)now go to filter > distort > twirl and use these settings:
5.a)now duplicate oringal again layer again and move it to the top of the layers
b)rename the duplicate "333" (right click, layer properties)
c)now go to filter > distort > twirl and use these settings:
6.a)now duplicate oringal again layer again and move it to the top of the layers
b)rename the duplicate "555" (right click, layer properties)
c)now go to filter > distort > twirl and use these settings:
7.a)now duplicate oringal again layer again and move it to the top of the layers
b)rename the duplicate "777" (right click, layer properties)
c)now go to filter > distort > twirl and use these settings:
8.a)now duplicate oringal again layer again and move it to the top of the layers
b)rename the duplicate "999" (right click, layer properties)
c)now go to filter > distort > twirl and use these settings:
9.ok now repeat stages 4 - 8, but using nagative values (-111,-333,-555,-777,-999)
10. your layers should now look like this:
*optional* this is were you can add extra features to your "twirl animation" wether it be adding a colour balance layer to add some colour or add a border to finish off the edges.
Now for the animation11. Open up ImageReady (ctrl+m)
12. Make sure your animation panel (
**PICTURE** ) is open, then go "windows > animation".
13. Turn off all the layers so that only "original layer" is visible:
14. set the timing to 0.1 seconds:
15. Now duplicate the first frame of the animation - (
**Click here for picture** 16. Now make the layer "111" visible.
17. Duplicate the second frame of the animation
18. Now make the layer "333" visible.
19. Repeat this process untill you get to frame 6, layer 999.
20. Now duplicate the 5th frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
21. Now duplicate the 4th frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
22. Now duplicate the 3rd frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
23. Now duplicate the 2nd frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
24. Now duplicate the 1st frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
Note: At this stage you should have 11 frames in your animation.
25. Duplicate the 11th frame (which should be the same as the first one) of the animation.
26. Now make the layer "-111" visible.
27. Duplicte the 12th frame.
28. Now make the layer "-333" visible.
29. Keep repeating this process untill you reach the 16th frame, with layer "-999" visible.
30. Now duplicate the 16th frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
31. Now duplicate the 15th frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
32. Now duplicate the 14th frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
33. Now duplicate the 13th frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
34. Now duplicate the 12th frame, and move it to the end. (click and drag)
35. Now to save it go, "file > save optimized as".
Well that concludes this tutorial, i hope its easy to understand. i tried to go into as much detail as possible, but if you dont understand something then please post.
