 The contrast between the windowbg and bg1 areas with the main bg colour is overwhelming - which is definitely not what you need. The colours are ok - i think the orange is a bit much - you need to balance it with more greys in the main body. Cat headings are nice though - but could be better. Link colours are odd - the oil-ish colour doesn't work very well with all the orange surrounding it. The header/banner needs to be more professionally made and positioned - the logo itself is a rudimentary piece of typography. Considering this aims to be a design forum, I think you need a skin with a bit more spunk.

We were featured on the front page for a few years. I think we were chosen to replace SSD when it closed down (back when there were 4-5 static links on the front page, not a rotating wheel of links like there is now) yep I won 2 slots on the main page after the 07 PBS skinning contest and asked for SZ to be put up - I think SZ was up for over 1 year

I'm uncertain about the issue, in terms of which side to support. The internet was intended to be free and should remain so - by all means. Private organizations bowing before the US government's might and dropping support for Wikileaks is unfortunate. The right to express oneself should override all other concerns. Anon's attacks on all the companies that have wagged their tails in front of Uncle Sam was - I'm sure, in their eyes - the right thing to do. But I don't feel that was necessary. Caving in under pressure from a government is silly. The internet is not Uncle Sam's property.
On the flip side, Wikileaks is not a shining beacon of responsible journalism either. A lot of what gets leaked may very well endanger people and exacerbate volatile situations globally. Which is not cool.

www.newtek.com/lightwave/Has anyone tried out this 3D software? Its apparently really awesome - a trial download is available on the website. I have been hunting out a number of vid tuts for different processes in the workflow that can be achieved with this. Pretty exciting for me cos this is my first foray into 3D modelling.
