Not a massive fan of the winter Olympics, but I think the fact that it is held in Russia is finally making people talk about things that need to be talked about. Channel 4 (British mainstream channel) did well to do this  www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6RID82Ru-k

Anyways, so far the only thing to really catch my attention was USA beating Russia in hockey.
