I was wondering while read various JavaScript articles today, and thought I would ask...

  • What are you doing to help yourself be the best?
  • Do you practice?
  • Do you read books, tutorials?
  • Do you read articles?
  • Do you only practice writing ProBoard codes? (which I know most of you do)
  • Are you bothered if you aren't the next best coder on ProBoards?
  • Do you want to be known for more then ProBoard coding?
  • Who do you look up to and attempt to try and learn from?
  • When you goto bed at night, do you try to think of new and exciting codes to write?
  • Have you ever been tempted to write a script onto paper at school, hoping that the teacher or fellow students will see it and think you are one uber geek?
  • In 10 years time, do you think you will still be coding in JavaScript?

No one word answers please :)

- What are you doing to help yourself be the best?
+ Keep coding and learning
- Do you practice?
+ Depends what you mean by practice. Not for no reason.
- Do you read books, tutorials?
+ I read tutorials, and I own a book, but both are rare.
- Do you read articles?
+ Nope, not at all. I may of read one or two.
- Do you only practice writing ProBoard codes? (which I know most of you do)
+ Mostly only PB, yes. Other's I write occasionally (JAvaScript I mean)
- Are you bothered if you aren't the next best coder on ProBoards?
+ :P No, not in the least. I just hate it when noobs think they can beat me.
- Do you want to be known for more then ProBoard coding?
+ Eventually, yes. Right now while I still further my JavaScript knowledge and code PHP on the side, I'm content.
- Who do you look up to and attempt to try and learn from?
+ Look up to? Anyone who codes better then me or knows something I don't know, but wish I did. As for learn from, anyone who is willing to teach me, or help me if I have questions. :P Mainly those on MSN
- When you goto bed at night, do you try to think of new and exciting codes to write?
+ >_>;; Only if I do't have school or football the next day
- Have you ever been tempted to write a script onto paper at school, hoping that the teacher or fellow students will see it and think you are one uber geek?
+ No I havn't. :P I have written a code down before though.
- In 10 years time, do you think you will still be coding in JavaScript?
+ Among other scripting languages, yes,

  • What are you doing to help yourself be the best?
    • Sadly, nothing. I need to start doing more.

  • Do you practice?
    • Rarely. I just don't get a chance anymore :(.

  • Do you read books, tutorials?
    • No. Tutorials not often. My book is...gone.

  • Do you read articles?
    • Not generally, but am starting to more.

  • Do you only practice writing ProBoard codes? (which I know most of you do)
    • Nope, I don't practice.

  • Are you bothered if you aren't the next best coder on ProBoards?
    • From what I am told, I am the best (for PB), so....no :P.

  • Do you want to be known for more then ProBoard coding?
    • Wouldn't mind it.

  • Who do you look up to and attempt to try and learn from?
    • You, Hechizero, WebWorldX, sometimes Hechizero

  • When you goto bed at night, do you try to think of new and exciting codes to write?
    • I've had those nights....

  • Have you ever been tempted to write a script onto paper at school, hoping that the teacher or fellow students will see it and think you are one uber geek?
    • I caved into that temptation.

  • In 10 years time, do you think you will still be coding in JavaScript?
    • Probably. Along with PHP hopefully. Perhaps something like Java, C, VB, etc.

I look at people's coding and wish mine was that 1337.

                        # What are you doing to help yourself be the best?

I try and see how others code, the end result of that code and what elements they've used. I don't read case studies but I do read online tutorials and books just to keep me going.

                        # Do you practice?
Yes, sometimes. But coding is not my main concern, therefore I don't take much time into praticing coding.

                        # Do you read books, tutorials?

Yes, if I find a good, concise tutorial or book, I indulge myself into it.

                        # Do you read articles?
No, I can't find good articles about coding to be frank.

                        # Do you only practice writing ProBoard codes? (which I know most of you do)
Yes, because the Javascript level for Proboards is very basic. It's only modification of datas, which is good for a beginner like me.

                        # Are you bothered if you aren't the next best coder on ProBoards?
Not really, as I know I have a limited coding skill. I just don't have that natural talent.

                        # Do you want to be known for more then ProBoard coding?
Maybe just a little. I'm not into fame and all that stuff. I just code to fill my curiosity.

                        # Who do you look up to and attempt to try and learn from?
Anyone who codes well. Perhaps, CD, petey, ZT and Jim.

                        # When you goto bed at night, do you try to think of new and exciting codes to write?
                        O_o;;;
                        Nope...I don't even know what to code..>.<

                        # Have you ever been tempted to write a script onto paper at school, hoping that the teacher or fellow students will see it and think you are one uber geek?

Once...but that didn't work out as I've actually got stuck on what I was doing.

                        # In 10 years time, do you think you will still be coding in JavaScript?
Probably not. I'm not that dedicated into computer programing. Besides, coding Javascript is only a time filler for me. It's not going to be my future job.
