FF spell checker said millenniums was right actually.  I knew it was a different word, but couldn't recall which.

And that's why the people at Mozilla are coding an open-source internet browser, and not teaching English at a University Wikipedia said it's millenia, so they know what they're talking about

nope both versions are correct --- millenniums and millennia  just as the plural for forum can be forums or fora.
