It may be more of a spamming problem then an addiction. And this should be in games.

Eh, Runescape is okay considering it's a free MMORPG, but not that great. First of all, the graphics suck and second of all, there is no plot, no story, no real point. All people do really is fight monsters and buy stuff. It gets very boring after awhile which is why I quit playing.

RuneScape is...well...like, really, really bad.

I haven't played much of the new version, so I'm basing my opinion off the old one. I didn't mind the bad graphics, and I didn't mind the lack of story/plot/whatever. I play a lot of those kinds of games. It's just that the whole fighting system consisted of hitting one person back and forth in the same motion until one dies first. You could use magic if you wanted to suck or spend way too much time, I guess. I remember there being no sound, and you had to click your way around, too. It was just a clumsy, clunky, and not too much fun.

And even after I said all that, I can still admit to having played RS a lot for around two or so weeks. MMORPG's can do that to you if you let them. I was like level 32 or 34 or so when I started playing less.

I remember mining. That was like the most menial task ever done...ever, but I kept doing it anyway. It was frustrating when someone with a high mining level rushes in and takes the ore. Goddamn showoffs.

I kind of wonder what the new version is like, since I only played like ten minutes of it.

Runescape its a waste of time once you have done all the quests there is nout much more in that game

Well, you can't really finish all the quests since MMORPG's update content like that.

Or at least, I was under the impression that they do. =/

This is why I don't play games like Runescape or Dialbo not because I'm afraid that I'll become addicted but because of others rabid enthusiasm and addiction. I know someone at my school who have a Dialbo addiction. He is always playing it. And I mean that literally. He just stoped coming to school and he just stoped getting on AIM at all. It's sad... I haven't even seen him in 5 months. Now this may be an extreme case but this is why I never play games like this.

You shouldn't let a few "THIS GAME IS LIKE CRACK FOR ME" cases let you from at least trying games like that, though.

I've heard a lot of people becoming addicted to WoW, but I wouldn't mind trying it (haven't yet since I don't want to pay).

I hate Runescape. I just can't stand the look of it. I absolutely detest online games.

Ah Runescape i used to spend 3+ hours on that game per day i was so addicted. I got level 87 fishing over 90+ combat, but then u found Invisionfree. I spent alot of time on the support forums then i got addicted to scripting and haven't played RS since

I can't seem to get into it, I play for two days solid, non stop and then quit, in that period get cracked and then start again, I've been banned a few times though, for account cracking , But I was only getting back those who got me

Runescape sucks. I don't know why no one has ever heard of Ultima Online. Been out for I think 10 years now or atleast almost. It was the first MMORPG and it's honestly and amazing game. It's still around also. EA games bought it out so everyone plays the free servers where you can make your own server and code it to the old ways using C#. I don't play as much as I used to cause I'm currently playing another game, PlanetSide, but it will always be the first MMORPG that was created by Origin.

i sued to play runescape for hours on end. then i relised how boring and pointless it is. lol

one thing that i hated about that game is that they haven't added a feature for free players in like a year all the new features are for memebers, and i'm not gunna pay $5 a month for a crappy game like that

i'd rahter play a game thats 10 times better in EVERY way. for example, conquer online.
