I just watched most of the Sony conference, so naturally I'll tell you guys about it. I have a PS2, and like it, so naturally I'm looking forward to the PS3.

At first, it was really boring. They were showing games with marginally-better graphics, and the only game that really stood out and made use of the physics chip was Heavenly Sword...or something like that.

Then they said how you can download stuff to the PS3's HDD, and how it has PSP connectivity and all that. The price was also announced. $500 for a 20 GB HDD, and $600 for a 60 GB one. Ouch.

But here's the real kicker. Remember how Sony had that boomerang controller (which for some reason I thought would end up being comfortable)? Well, they scrapped that. Instead, they have a lighter (in weight) version of the DualShock 2.

IT ALSO HAS MOTION-SENSING CAPABILITIES. Something about having six degrees of movement or whatever. Then they went bragging about how "their" innovation will change how we play games.

Yeah, that wasn't stolen from the Wii or anything. I guess everyone copies from each other (Microsoft had some motion Sidewinder thing from the PC), but this is just so similar to the Wii controller. It seems less intuitive from what I watched the guy playing the demo, but still...damn. Plus, it's way too obvious since they announced they were gonna have a new controller design a couple weeks ago.

WTF, Sony.

So...yeah, discuss. Nintendo and Microsoft's conferences are tomorrow.

Stupid, stupid Sony. If I didn't want to play the FF games so badly, I would stop thinking about maybe even getting one. :P It should be awesome though, but who knows. They said the same thing about the Nintendo (Original)

So far I've watched the Sony and Nintendo press conference. They were both kind of boring. I liked the E3 2003, 2004, and 2005 conferences better. Has anyone watched Microsofts yet?

I was kind of disappointed that one of the big secrets about the Wii controller was the speaker on it.

I am looking forward to Zelda: Twilight Princess, FF XII, Super Mario Galaxy, Metal Gear Solid 4, Redsteel, New Super Mario Bros., Sonic Wild Fire (wii) and a few more. I think I might wait a few years before getting a PS3, it's too expensive in my opinion.

What games are you all looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to Twilight Princess since it'll be for the Wii.

I also just saw the video for Sonic the Hedgehog for PS3/XBox 360. Looks badass. Video.

Also saw the new SSB video... and... wow. Video.

Red Steel was really disappointing at E3. Apparently it looks and feels nothing like what was shown. Ubisoft better shape that up. MP3 on the other hand...

The polls so far are all showing that Nintendo had the best conference, what with Sony's absurd pricing on the PS3 and kinda bland show.

I was kinda hoping Super Mario Galaxy wouldn't use the nunchuck thing to move around, but it is. Still looks good so far.

Microsoft showed Halo 3 and Gears of War, and some other games. Nothing too showy, but nothing too bad either.

I have been hearing a lot of good and bad things about Red Steel. In GameInformer magazine (the most recent issue with the Wii-mote on it) they said that the control was really quite good and the sensitivity was just right. But I was reading some impressions from different sites on the internet and they have been saying it was a bit too sensitive. Still, I think it looks pretty good, but on the videos I've seen the katanas are paper thin. :P

I was actually expecting the PS3 to be a hundred dollars more expensive than it is now. They might have a hard time selling it to casual gamers who don't care about blu-ray. :/

I liked Nintendo's conference the best this year, but it doesn't match up to the one where the new Zelda was shown for the first time and the one where Reggie was "kicking ass and taking names". :P

Luckily MP3 is shaping up well, so it's just Ubisoft's fault. They still have like half a year to patch things up, though.

And I liked Reggie's "Okay. Next, the name. First, we want to thank everyone who wrote good things about it the day you heard it. ...Both of you." quote.

Ahh, yes. MP3 is looking good. Hopefully they will do much better with the multiplayer than what they had in MP2.

I enjoy listening to Reggie's speaches, he is a really good spokesperson/chief of marketing at all of the events Nintendo has.

E3 was awesome. Sony's conference was good but they disappointed me a little on the PS3. Some of the features they announced last year were removed. Also, the PS3 will be very expensive. As for Microsoft and Nintendo's conferences, they were good as well. Microsoft seemed to go a step further with the 360 and Nintendo finally had playables for the Wii. It was by far the best E3 so far.

The thing I was most disappointed about with the PS3 was the rumble feature being taken out and the price of the PS3 even though I expected it to me somewhat more than it is right now. But other than that it's looking pretty good. What features did they remove that they announced last year?

Quite frankly, the Wii doesn't look that impressive graphically and I've yet to see a 360 game that can meet the next-gen standards. PS3 will always have the bigger fanbase. If not in the UK and America, it will in Japan which is where it really counts (since most games are originally Japanese). Besides, it seems that motion sensor controllers are the 'new thing', so even though they were the first to copy the idea, they won't be the only ones.

Also, you have to remember that this console war means virtually nothing for Sony and Microsoft. Sony is synonomous with electronics and software. There is no way possible that losing this console war would hurt them. And then we have Microsoft which has Windows and Bill Gates. Again, not a big deal. Nintendo is the only one that has to worry and being that they were the innovators of this motion sensor, they're also in a good position. So really, it doesn't bother me that they copied because I know that they'll keep making systems, they'll keep making games, and they'll keep pleasing their fans--even if it means ripping off another company.

Did they happen to show a video of Halo 3? I've really been looking forward to some info on it...

Anyways, I'm a lazy person and won't go look this stuff up unless someone provides me with links... so yeah. <.<;
