Sakurai said he doesn't want to use realistic weaponry, and that Snake'll have a lot of explosives to use, and they'll somehow incorporate the series trademark box into it. Hopefully they'll still have a blaster-type gun for him.

i really hope Brawl is as, or even better than, Melee. it seems good, even with Solid Snake not using guns and a Nintendog on the screen for some reason.

Sega didn't give Sonic to Nintendo, they still own him. That's why they still ported the later Sonic games to PS2 and Xbox. They just had a short exclusivity deal with Nintendo, I guess.
And I heard that the Nintendogs are gonna be like an item that takes up the whole screen, like a distraction. Sort of like one of Togepi's moves that made the screen black in SSBM (at least, I think it was Togepi).
