Has anyone played these old RPG's? The first two were on the NES. I played through the first one a ways, but never bothered with the second one. The third was for the SNES and Genesis. I've played that one quite a bit (despite it being in Chinese) and I love it. These are based on people in Chinese history and allows you to play as Liu Bei, his two sworn brothers, and other officers underneath him. The first two subsituted HP with Troops and allowed you to control various famous and minor officers of the time whereas DoE3 set you in the classic Final Fantasy setting with an ATB guage and a total of 7 different characters, all famous generals under Liu Bei (and Liu Bei himself). Really, despite their age, translations errors, and the general simplicity of the games, they're awesome. I know the first game is probably the hardest of the bunch, but I found the third to be the most fun. It includes magic, summons, battle animations, the works. It takes some getting used to since it's in Chinese (for the Genesis ROM) or Japanese (for the SNES ROM), but after awhile, you basically memorize the spells and summons. I haven't played them in awhile, but I think I should go back and play them. Truly great games which you shouldn't pass up. As far as I know, they're strickly Asian games, so you'll need the translated versions as ROMs (except for DoE3 which isn't translated yet as far as I know).
