We all know 'em, hate 'em, and wonder why they keep getting put into games. There are exceptions to every rule, of course, but these still suck most of the time.

Escort missions
Timed missions
Timed escort missions
Level grinding in RPG's that have come out in the past couple of years
Fighting game bosses
Handicaps (lolz for some reason you lost all your weapons for this one really hard fight only sucks 2 b u)
Non-skippable cutscenes
Non-skippable cutscenes right before boss fights (I'm looking at you, FFX)
Frequent save points when you don't need them, and then all of a sudden no save points when you have to fight everyone in the universe

I'll come back with more later and give some examples.

The thing I hate the most, is when games don't let you choose when you save. I get so mad, when I just got past a part that was really hard, and there is no save point on the other side.

I also hate missions where they don't tell you what you have to do (if you ever played Black, you'd know exactly what I'm talking about). There would be this huge city map, where you have to clear it, and I did that, which took me like a 45 minutes, then once everything is clear, nothing happens, and there is no way out (you have to jump down this thing to get there, and there's no way to get back up).

I'm sure I can think of more, I just can't think right now. I'll try to think of some while I'm playing today.

Edit: That didn't take long :P

In the PSP version of Medal Gear Solid 2/3 (I forget which), there was this 20 minute long intro into the game, but you had to press X to change the screen. I understand why they put it in there, it gave alot of background information.. but if you don't want to watch it, why should you have to? :-/

Having to level in RPGs. I prefer skill based RPGs. >_<
In online shooters, team-killing-fucktards (to quote Red vs Blue).
Campers in games where camping isn't required (there are games where its needed).
Running across the world multiple times just to deliver an item. -_-

Long, boring, pointless cut-scenes. That, and very crappy boss fights. Little things that make you go "FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!" :P

I hate it when games don't save and then you have to start over from your last save point. :'(

Only n00bs use save states. :P

...unless, of course, the game is in Chinese and you have no idea where to save or how to.
>.>

I hate hard bosses in FF. What happened to good old fashioned "hard"? Nowadays, it seems they make bosses strong by not only giving them a billion more HP than they deserve, but giving them uber-powerful attacks that not only have a high chance of killing or brutally crippling your party in one blow, but also inflict status ailments. Now you have to heal and get rid of your ailments and you can't even attack.

Dubbl-yoo-tee-eff mate?!

I also hate the lack of save spots, everything SO mentioned (especially the first 3), games that are only challenging because of horrible camera angles, completely useless and unnecessarily hard puzzles in a game that has no focus whatsoever on puzzle solving or riddles, difficulty spikes (like where one boss isn't far off from another boss, but is 10 times harder), and movie games. In general. The entire game itself sucks, let alone the individual elements within it.

The one thing that pissed me off from Tales of Symphonia was the near impossible minigames. >_<

I can't agree more. It gets a bit ridiculous.
Hmm, as much as I love RPGs, random battles sometimes can annoy me, especially when you're off to fight the last boss or something uber is about to happen in the story and you have to go through loads of annoying battles to get to them.

Something else I hate about video games? Losing in multiplayer. :P
