Hey you guys! I am a major MMORPG fan and was wondering if you know of any games that looks and feel similar to either Ragnarok Online or MapleStory? I found an off-take of both but they look unreliable.

Hey tenkabuto, welcome to Studio Zero! I can see you're new here, but hey that's ok! btw, FYI, we have a super duper video game board where you can talk about anything you want, say MMO's too! tottally rad! plz post there instead! ;;)

Just kidding, you sly dog you, knowing you'd get more posts here instead. If you wanna pay, you could always go with WoW, seeing as how countless people have lost their lives to the "game." I don't know if free, good, and MMORPG go in the same sentence, though, unless it's like a negative, like "that free and not good MMORPG sucked balls."

Guild Wars doesn't have a monthly fee, just a one-time buy thing. Just don't play RuneScape. Please.

Oh yeah, I heard of FlyFF, you could research that.

Star Trek: Online is in production to be completed in abt another 1.5 years. That is going to be ground-breaking.

If you're a Trekkie like me, you'll love Star Trek: Broken Mirror. It's flash based, but saves your progress, and I believe the new version is online/ multiplayer. Loads of Star Trek fun.

If you're looking for the MapleStory type, then your best bet would be Guild Wars.

Runescape is for teh 5-year olds. I can't believe some of my friends actually waste $5 on their membership few years ago.

Yeah, I don't care what you do as long as it isn't Runescape. If WoW and Everquest were the hot, loose cheerleaders of the MMORPG realm, Runescape would be the girl in all the pictures in health class when you're talking about STD's. It's not pretty.

I'd reccommend Guild Wars seeing as I've never played it. I've heard good things though and it doesn't cost other than the initial purchase of the game.

However, I would suggest you broaden your horizon. Online FPS's (Halo, Serious Sam (I'm old skool), etc) and online RTS's (Age of Empires FTW!) are great. So if you're craving online play, try some different games. If not...well...good luck finding a good game.

Thanks you guys. I got GW:Factions for Christmas, but I was looking for a different MMO that was more pixel-based like Ragnarok/MapleStory, instead of 3D.
