xbox360.ign.com/articles/776/776448p1.html

Coming out April 29, which is pretty soon considering when the announcement just came out.

So, differences: it's in black (duh), $80 more than the current premium ($480), a lot more space (20 GB to 120 GB), and comes with HDMI ready to go. I'm guessing this HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) seems to be a different way to output HD, but to be honest I'm not sure. This ships out with HDMI cables, while the premium 360 shipped with component cables, which can run in progressive scan, but once again I'm not sure if that's only 480p or above. The Elite still comes with all the stuff the premium did, including component and composite cables.

Unfortunately, there's still no built-in Wi-Fi, where there really should be. If both of your competitors have built-in Wi-Fi, for $480 I think it would be worth it to put in, but that's just me. So you still have to use the $100 ethernet USB thing. Same goes for HD-DVD stuff, but I'd think that constitutes a smaller portion of the market.

For people who already have a 360 and don't want this, you could buy the 120 gig HDD separately for $180, which includes a cable to transfer data over.

All versions of the 360 (now 3) will continue to be sold, at least from what I'm reading. I'll try to find more differences if I can. But basically, I'm guessing you'll only really benefit from this if you have a super HDTV with 1080p and no space on your current 360 HDD or something.

I could care less about the new version...but what pisses me off is that 20 to 120 GB's is not fair, they should have put 120 GB's to begin with

Both are rather large space amounts originally though. I mean, how much space do the games take up on your XBox? (I'm actually asking, since I don't have a 360)

Well, this is better for people who rip games on their hard drives, good job Microsoft for screwing yourself over.

You can't rip anything with a 360... the 360 isn't hackable (yet) so there's no ripping

and to answer Chris's question it's enough to last you until the next console comes out, but still, say if you upload 1000 songs to the harddrive that's about 4 GB'S and add the games and that's about 20 mb's for 8 games but, some take more space...but whatever, when you get the 360 with 20GB's there's alredy 8 gb's used, because of the gamer pictures, demos and stuff

If you have a crapload of XBLA stuff and like 50 HD DVD movies you might need to boost your harddrive or just erase data you don't need. Then I guess the Elite might be for you.

Hopefully, just maybe, they'll drop the price of the premium after this release so I can get one.

Aye, but if they lower the price, people would then still buy them instead of saving up an extra $80 and buying the new and better one.

I really wouldnt consider buying one as i have a 360 now.... If you dont have a 360 then perfect. This isnt a big project it is just something to counter the PS3. It reli isnt worth getting if you alredy have a 360.... Worth waiting until their next BIG project.

There'd end up being too much overlap, argument, and destruction of pride. :P Mainly, it's just their own pride. It's similar to the competition of design forums on PB.

Personally, I think they should have brought out a black skin for old 360 users (Like myself) and made the Elite an even $500 and included the HD DVD drive in it. *shrugs*
