A shop is just much better for everyone. Saves everyone having to wait around for staff to give them their "effects" and for staff to not get overwhelmed.

This was in response to the "shop suggestion" for PBv5.
Me: "14 - Shop/Store (Points System). Quite simple. Have some form of shop and/or points system where you can donate points to people, or from the shop you can purchase items that staff have added there, for example: formatted name (bold, italic, etc).. and much more stuff."
Patrick: "We already have custom user storage that you can use for shops"
Smangii: "Shops that include points?"
Me: "What he said and so can we set it up so people can buy from the shop, donate points and so on? I will say it just for better explanations: like the other hosts shops.. Anything as good?"
Patrick: "I would have to speak with you guys some more in terms of *exactly* what you want to be able to do, but we do want to ensure that you can implement complex features like this."
So, in response to Patrick's last quote, what exactly do we want from a shop? Obviously:
General Users / Staff: - To be able to donate points. - Buy items from the shop (bold names etc). - Withdraw or Deposit to a bank. - Unlock items by rank or post count. - Sell items back for half the amount bought for.
Staff Only:
- Add new items. - Disable items. - Limit items. - Change prices of items. - Set interest rate per daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly basis.
Other:
- Auctions -- Set minimum bid for item / Buy It Now price. -- people can bid on auctions
Shop purchase would be automated, so you buy your item(s) and then you get it instantly or almost so. Staff wouldn't manually have to give each user their item(s).
Umm.. ??

Chris, Josh, anyone else.. you guys have great memories. Can you remember if PBS said that they WOULD or might introduce a shop/store or points system?
I can remember it being talked about several times. I'm sure they said that it would at least be a possibility. Either way though I have suggested it. lol

Lol yeah. But some of my ideas are definitely great. I hope the #11 suggestion is applied. Go look on PBS, it's on the second page =D

Stinky, Deko: You guys realize there's a feature request board for beta testers, right? Using that you can request the ability to disable your drafted posts, if it doesn't exist. Link or it didn't happen. Got it myself. Also, apparently the achievements aren't going to be editable. So you can't add your own or anything. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

haha yeah, that's what I have said to people. Also, I may be the only one to dislike this, but the quote layout is horrible: i56.tinypic.com/ind6r5.jpg

Ok so yeah that's 2 features that are good, but that are both outdated. Threaded PM's Multiquotes

I created a new thread on PBv5 forum right, just to click the UBBC to test stuff etc. I didn't create the thread, I simply clicked back to the Main Page, now I went to create a new thread again and: i53.tinypic.com/27zlwkw.jpgThat will get annoying as hell. Ah, I do this quite a bit. Does it do that for replies too? I don't think so no. Hope not, that'd be much worse. (maybe, hopefully, it will have a disable function for it... somewhere. Anywhere tbh.)

I'm in and there is so much I dislike about V5 so far. Did they steal the achievements idea from you guys? Achievement codes have been around since I have been on Proboards which is closing in on 9 years at this point. I have never come across anywhere doing it until here. Oh fuck this, I'm going back to conforums Nah, it's not bad actually. But I don't like the floating pagination/search bar. Or that "currently logged in" thing at the bottom. And that shoutbox has got to go. I'm not really a fan of the nav tree bar either.. I agree on all of that. However, the nav tree thing, I think is something you just have to get used to. I do like the multiquote though (alt+click the posts you wanna quote, then select quote).

How's the whole stupid avatar system that no one will use? Are you kidding? Everyone is going to use that damn thing, it's a novelty. Everyone will use it at first, but then the novelty will wear off. Although, it may not since it means not having to get someone to design you an avatar. So avatar requests at places will stop. The only people who wont use it, or shouldn't, are designers.

I got into the beta today. I've not had much time to look at it, but it mostly seems to just be bringing things in line with other modern forum software so far. How's the whole stupid avatar system that no one will use?

Get anything other than an iPhone or BlackBerry.. All my bro's g/f keeps going on about is getting that new BB that is out.. The tablet thing. Though, just the look of a BB doesn't appeal to me at all, so I wouldn't go for any BB. What about Nokia, they have some decent ones...? The E7 or whatever it's called seems decent enough. Why would you get a phone that has an operating system that Nokia has already publicly said they will stop supporting in the next year in favor of Windows Phone 7? I don't have a clue.. I don't follow tech and especially not mobile phones. My one is a 3220 Nokia, from something like 2004. Remember those? I literally just need a phone to use for calls and texts. The simple old days.
