I recently purchased a sony 16x dvd-rom/52x burner
drive to replace my older main drive. However, after
following the installation directions to a T, my pc
simply will not recognize/install the drive. All the
connections are tight and pins lined up. My pc did
recognize the drive once and apparently installed it,
but upon restart, the drive still did not work and was
not listed under 'My Computer.' My secondary drive
(just a plain burner) no longer works either. I've
tried switching the drivers between bays, however, the
one time my pc did recognize the new drive was when it
was connected as the main. No devices need to be
installed according to the manual, and my pc, a five
year-old pentium 4 dell desktop, has all requirements
listed for the drive. Any advice or ideas on this
matter is GREATLY appreciated
