It's sort of like social networking but explicitly for business purposes. It allows you to make contacts and business connections, as well as for people to give you recommendations that can be looked up.

The concept seems strange to me, Businesses can utilize in house VoIP, Commerce Regiries and so fourth, why would they sign up to a social network site? - I'd never engage in business in that environment. @webmistress Jesse™ No, I meant "Me Neither" I just ommited the "me" part in a vain attempt to be "hip"... *Edit, after having a look thru the securty vunerabilities; I'd never even go there.

You do not perform business on the site. It's not like a business operations site. Like I said, it's networking for businesses purposes. As in you make the connections, then follow up by email. I have actually had freelance work come to me through a connection I had on this site.
As with any site, I wouldn't recommend putting anything overly personal on there.
