I've been messing with various 3D applications for years, and well; the end results look; 2D.

So, I'm gonna get some 3D glasses (not the red/blue type) and mess around with a short animation sequence.

The effect should look similar to this (except the 3D won't go inside the monitor, it'll come out...)

Just cross your eyes when sitting at least 2' from our monitor until the image on the right combines with the image on the left. Your eyes should focus and you should be able to look around the scene. Don't do it for hours though...

Use Global Illumination, or Vray along with some simple light techniques, to get a more 3d look. =)
Light Techniques: 3point light.
