Not being a coder though, I'm unsure as to the compatibility issues with codes?

99% sure 99% of them will break.

As for me, I'm slightly excited because this means I'll finally not have an excuse for making a really involved skin since it won't break anytime soon.

I'm looking forward to this. Will make some of my wild ideas (just ask Chris how radically I have wanted to change Proboards before ) possible. Could make future versions of SZ miiiighty interesting if I am chosen to design them.

EDIT: Zell: They will likely all not work. This is a major upgrade. Everything is changing. Half of the things we need codes for now, will be built into PBv5 in the admin panel. Just like the v3-v4 update.

Chris is just going to update the coding on the current skins. No new one required.

Like Quilford said, it's exciting to see all the changes and updates that will likely come about with SZ, but at the same time, the codes are gonna basically implode on themselves, so it'll be a not-fun time for awhile.

When is it due then? I'd better start preparing a plan - I'm already loosing sleep...

Meh. I'll be more interested when it's closer. Right now it's just a bunch of talk (meaning questions, suggestions, discussion) and I'd rather just see it and explore it myself.

I'd rather it took forever, because its going to be hell updating EVERYTHING to work on it.

I wouldn't expect it until at least this time next year, honestly. It could come sooner by the PB team isn't exactly fast moving. >.>
