Isn't karma supposed to show one's level of respect in the community, not, who's got enough to buy respect. Being able to buy karma, defeats the object of having it there in the first place.

I agree here. =\ I think you should be able to do things like I am currently waiting for (Changing my Karma to say "Over 9000!"), but not buying karma.

Then come up with ideas for more things to buy.

I have ideas, just not so sure they would be allowed on Proboards due to... um... yung'uns.

What defeats the purpose, is de-karma or karma-ing people just because they agree or disagree with you. It should be used when it's needed, and not "just to do it" or because you don't like the person. ...you still don't understand the point of karma. ><

Yup. Personally, unless we are in a dire financial straits, having people post to get extra advertisement is great. Of course, I don't thinkwe can advertise if the forum isn't ad-free. ><

We have an option to advertise in the shop already. no one's bought it though.
Also, if you guys really want, we could have an option to only let people spend karma (e.g. convert to points) and not buy it.

I would like to trade my -122 karma for 122 points please..  If +1 karma = +1 points, I would expect -122 karma to be -122 points. wait thats just the same as buying karma. it doesn't help at all.

haha directed numbers ... anyway. remove all instances of karma-buying in the shop and permanently rename it "Reputation" (unless you already do that, I only use v2 ).
