Unsure if any of you have heard, but the new Smashing Pumpkins album, Teargarden by Kaleidyskope is very interesting.

It's a 44-song concept album that will be released one song at a time, for free, online.

From Wikipedia
The album will be comprised of 44 songs, released one at a time. Billy Corgan has stated he would like to start releasing songs before November of this year. Corgan is hoping to continuously release one song every three or four weeks until all forty-four are released. While all of the songs will be released free with "no strings attached", eleven limited edition CD EPs will be released of four songs each, culminating in a box set release. Corgan says he is releasing the album this way because he wants people to at least hear the songs before making a judgment, and that he is interested in "subverting a system that works against holistic thinking when it comes to how art is made and delivered to those who might want to hear it."

Thoughts on this method? Do you think it will work? Does it put Billy Corgan back on the map after a very "meh" release in Zeitgeist?
