If you can get a good flavor with fruit juice then yes, if not no.

I LOVE light sodas. Vault, Mountain Dew, Mello Yello, Sprite, Sierra Mist, 7-up. Uh... did I forget any? Vault = amazing. My brother made a very interesting combination of Coke and a very heavily carbinated light soda that I don't remember what was...7-Up, I think. It was awesome.  Maybe do something with that. It had a very tangy taste and definitely made the throat burn. He also mixed Orange and Coke. I myself like Coke -- a very strong, sharp taste, makes the throat burn for me, but still sweet. I think Pepsi is sweeter and milder, but I don't really like it. Vault is great, Sprite is good. I do like Fanta, particularly Grape and Orange, and I know a lot of people who do too. I would say go with that. Additionally...strawberry is good. Experiment with it.  I don't like artificial cherry, though, so I don't know how artificial strawberry would turn out... Good luck.
