So I'm installing the Half-Life 2 Cinematic Mod, right? Well, during the install, it tells me that it can take up to an hour, depending on the speed of my I/O subsystem. It then urges me to use to time to do something useful. However, I'm kinda lost...

Due to not knowing what useful things to do, I must disregard this advice for now. In the event that I should ever come across a situation like this again, though, what should I do?

Masturbate. That'll waste a good 4 minutes or so.

Beyond that, watch a movie/show? Make a sandwich/cook something?

I've got one, read the whole readme for the mod, nobody ever seems to read those things...

I actually read readmes (readme's?) from time to time. Especially if they're short and concern modifications (as opposed to simple software installs).

Haha, don't feel bad, people in real life make the same mistake. I'm a pro at making it so you're not sure if I'm being sarcastic or serious. It's like a mix between a serious and sarcastic tone.

I'm in the same boat as Luci, I tend to read them for mods and complex software installs. Past that, not often.

Yeah, I find that putting a support URL at the beginning automatically grants them reason to not read the rest and then complain. So I hide the URL in the amidst the readme...

Same thing for readme's.... but I read them if I have a reason to. :P Typically I know what to expect and how to use the software.

Scorp: You made the right decision by posting on SZ. That's something useful.
