It looks like a very nice use of texture and colour to make the text stand out. My only concern is that the edges look a bit too rough and aliased.

Yeah, I followed that tut when I was into design aswell - it's a good lesson in layer effects.

you stole it!! lol small world huh I didn't steal it! My dad was actually "Lund" (Norwegian) but he was adopted and it changed to "Hickman" (British/English) so yeah.  Thats pretty cool, lol.. I always thought Hickman originated in Gaelic cities, I've seen reference to it anyway, but yeah thats freaky... i wonder if the ancestry is related somewhere lol.
