And I don't get it...what does that number signify (it's not often I see anyone use binary go up to 8192 as a stored value)?

And, if I split yours into two strings of 8, I still don't understand the number. Decimal equivalent is 52 and 50. I assume, thinking about it, you mean the strings... and that's true to an extent. For posting binary I always separate it wherever I know the space to be. Largely because it's less work for me . Why put 00000010 for "2" when I can just put 10?
