mashable.com/2011/02/10/internet-explorer-9-rc/Haven't really tested the html/javascript at all, but apparently(read: probably not) they are actually going to comply to standards.. or something like that. However, is nice that they are bringing hardware acceleration into the game, and a simplified UI. Still wouldn't switch though

I still have my gripes with the UI, but the overall product is amazing in comparison to what Microsoft has thrown out there before. It actually renders basic HTML correctly! The RC also has several rendering improvements over the beta, as well as CSS 2D transitions, massive speed increases, and a slightly altered tab structure. I'm really hoping they toss tabs into the titlebar when it's maximized. That's my main problem with it.

There is the ability to make tabs appear below the address bar, but I don't know about above it.

I did see that the RC is available via Windows Update, but haven't had a chance to look into it yet. Hopefully it's not a complete shit of a browser... and hopefully they find a successful way to factor out the old browser as its quite the pain to code for multiple versions.

He's right, it's not the best browser or even the next-best, but it is 100% a step in the right direction.

He's right, it's not the best browser or even the next-best, but it is 100% a step in the right direction. Sure is. Sadly, IE needs to go 200% in the right direction to catch up to Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera, not 100%.

... I won't even point out why that logic doesn't make sense.
