First up, Microsoft is rereleasing Halo: Combat Evolved for its tenth anniversary. It uses the Halo Reach engine but this is what is really cool: it also uses the original engine (and code) underneath it. This isn't a remake so much as a reskinning. You will be able to turn the new HD graphics on and off at will, which is pretty cool if you ask me.

Last but not least, you have the announcement that no one was expecting. We knew another Halo game was in development, but I don't think anyone predicted it would be Halo 4. A lot of people assumed it would be another pre-Flood game. You can watch the badass trailer here.

It'll be interesting to see if either of these games can capture the same magic the first five did without Bungie at the helm.
