1. MSN 2. Easy to use, lots of good featuers, looks nice. 3. A messenger with loads of extras, chat, draw, send files, voice clip, web cam, video conference, chat rooms, web browser. 4. Looks, features, userfriendlyness. 5. Video, being able to send files, voice clips. hope this helps  ~4rensick.

Everyone uses it, has many plugins (like MSN Plus  ), allows for handwriting (while in class on my tablet pc  ), custom smilies 3. What would the ultimate instant messenger be like? Allows video, chat, voice, handwriting, built in message tabbing, message history, emotes, custom smilies 4. What kind of feature would you look for in a messenger? or which ones do you look for now? I have friends (online or offline) who use it. That's pretty much it. I'm not too picky. 5. Name some cool features for an instant messenger. Hand writing, custom smilies, tabbed messages, message log.

Gaim.

It handles like a hojillion protocols (more like nine, but that's still a lot), including the most used AIM and MSN. Plus, it's all in tabs, so I don't need more than one window for a convo.
3. What would the ultimate instant messenger be like?
It would be able to send messages to other people. WHOAZ11 It really doesn't matter, as long as it's fast-loading, consistent, and easy-to-use, with a decent interface.
