It was originally used to make a photo look as if it was a cartoon (imagine the Halo 3 Monday Night Football teaser trailer). I played with settings and came across something that can be used as a final touch up on any photo and really add some depth to it and, something that many photos are missing, contrast. Some people asked for a tutorial and I provided this instead. With almost 8000 downloads and 15,000 views, this ranks in the top 50 Photoshop Actions in dA history.
