I've tried GIMP before, but the multiple screens thing blew it for me. Not sure why, but I could never get used to it.

GIMP is the only graphics program I use. I don't have the money for Photoshop or Flash, else I'd be using those more. GIMP is still good if you want to make a small animated gif or something. It's time consuming to make a detailed animation, though.

Never used it, was going to, but got CS2.

Never used it however Gimp is capable to create some awesome signatures.  I use CS3 and CS2, depends on which computer I go on.

how do you animate in gimp?! i have it but cant figure out how to make moving stuff only standing still stuff.....

I used GIMP for almost a year and it stinks.  Try Paint.net

CS? I'm not familiar with it. Then again, if it's talked about anywhere else in the forum I probably hadn't happened upon it yet. CS is a version of Photoshop. Also, I'm not sure you can animate in gimp =/
