YAY! Currently listening to music on my Dell Notebook, making a shexi skin on the MacBook and typing on SZ on my Desktop Anyways - this is a question for all my fellow Mac-lovers out there. What software should I download for my MacBook? I already have CS3 and iWork08 and Office Mac:08. What about a firewall or an antivirus? And how do I choose what all to download from apple.com? There's literally thousands of applications to choose from for Leopard.

No need for Firewalls or Anti-Virus. Just make sure Leopard is up to date at all times and you are good.
Apps to download: smcFanControl*: Allows you to view how hot your machine is and control what speed your fans are going Adium*: Use any messenger protocol possible. Can't do video or audio yet though Growl*: Just go to the site. You'll see why this is truly the must have app for Leopard CoverSutra: The number one iTunes controller. It rocks Connect360/MediaLink: Allows you to stream video, music, and pictures to your 360 or PS3 respectively The Unarchiver*: Lets you decompress just about any file type imaginable Perian, Flip4MacWMV, and SWF & FLV Player: These three will allow Quicktime and FrontRow to play just about any non-DRMed video. Quicktime is actually very useful with these Firefox*: ...duh? Secrets*: Allows you a lot of extra control over Leopard Candybar: The current ultimate customization tool for Leopard Displaperture*: Gives your screen the much needed rounded edges from Tiger. Just set it to the lowest possible setting for upper corners MenuCalendarClock iCal Edition: a great replacement for the system clock Quicklook plugins*: Trust me, you'll need them CyberDuck: Best FTP program I've used. Transmit is apparently very good too. HandBrake*: DVD Ripper iSquint*: Best video converter I've used on any operating system Last.fm*: ...duh? Transmission*: Best Torrent app available for any operating system, only OS X/Linux though TubeTV*: Allows you to easily download Youtube videos into a format that can be used on any Apple Device. Just choose your format, hit download, and you're set within minutes. Wiretap Pro: I got it for free from the MacHeist giveaway. It allows you to record anything being played on your MacBook. At college and can't download music anymore? Just play the song on Youtube or Last.fm or wherever and hit record. AppZapper: Useful when trying to get rid of apps Anxiety*: Great to-do list with a HUD interface
That is my definitive list. Many of the apps are not free but each and everyone are worth it. Free apps are denoted with an asterisk. Some of the ones without an asterisk may be free, I can't remember

Instead of AppZapper, look for AppTrap. Autodetects applications being moved to Trash, and asks you if you want to remove setting files and other stuff. EDIT: And its free ^_^
