A North Carolina man was charged during a traffic stop For Assaulting a police officer with a cough .

The police officer stated he stopped the man who turned directly toward him and coughed 3 times .

The " cougher " said he has been coughing for a week since his dog died , he couldn't help coughing .

Tut tut, he should know better.

I honestly think the Cop is in the right here. He wouldn't arrest him unless it was serious. He obviously meant to cough in his face, and thats like assault.

If it was not an accident, yes, that should be considered assault. Just like spitting in a cops face, which I'm sure you'd get in trouble for.

Reminds me of a story of a women who got arrested for attempted homicide because she spit on a man and said she had AIDS.
