If I understand this correctly, v5 will allow users to have complete control over the HTML, right? So once the new version hits, will the codes here still work since they're currently re-adjusting the HTML instead of altering it directly? If not, then what will happen to sites like SZ if their hundreds of codes won't work anymore? D=
o.o I might have gotten something mixed up, so please correct me if I did. x-x;

Yeah, you're right.
My assumption was that sites like SZ would start offering support for the users who needed help controlling their own HTML. Not too sure though, it depends on how much is actually customizable.

I'm gonna start dishing out internet beatings if people keep it up with this 4chan shit, I swear.

v5? Like ProBoards v5? What are they doing exactly?
|
|
|
|
They're creating a fully-customizable html templating system. So in other words 4/5 of the codes created for proboards become useless.

SZ's focus will shift slightly more to templates actually. For example, board modifications, profile modifications, and post modifications will become much more common. Quite a few codes will still be useful. And yeah, we'll still be doing lots of support for codes and HTML modifications... you need to remember that most PB users have VERY little knowledge of HTML and JavaScript unfortunately.

I too am not looking forward to v5. I'm quite content with the way things are on Proboards. Are they gonna give developers a chance at all to make at least some codes compatible for the v5 version— if that's possible. It really would be sad for users with pretty little forums to come back and see everything an epic mess. >.<

Yea. V5 is going to rip some forums apart coding wise.

I hope they do the Beta test or whatever like with what they did with 4.5. ><;; Give people a chance to edit their skins.

Probably will. They have a habbit of doing that.
