Blizzard has kicked off its annual convention with earth-shaking Azeroth-shaking news about their new expansion for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. "Hidden away in a secluded sanctuary, the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing has waited, recovering from the wounds of his last battle against Azeroth and biding his time until he can reforge the world in molten fire."Not only will Cataclysm feature new playable races ( Goblins and Worgen), a higher level cap (85), more locales, raids, dungeons, battlegrounds, and quests, but it will also revamp existing regions all over the realm, which means a renewed gaming experience, whether or not players buy the expansion. Add to this their plans to allow players to switch factions in the same way that they can already switch servers, and Blizzard's domination of the MMORPG genre shows no signs of slowing down. So, who else is looking forward to this? To me, it is bringing to the MMORPG genre what I like about console games. I personally can't wait for the phasing to be added to every zone. It'll make the player feel like he/she can shape the world based on their actions. They did it with Wrath of the Lich King and it was just great.

I like WoW and all but its way too soon to be thinking about another xpac.... but sadly too many people cry about things so stuff like this happens... Should be good and hopefully it turns out good and they don't rust it.

We have some time if trends stay the same.

It just seems like they're pulling a lot of strings to get this to work.
If they can get it right, it'd be killer. Massive worldwide events, really brings you into the scheme as a whole.

Personally, I'm a little disappointed in the addition of Worgen and NOT the addition of Naga. Seriously, I've been waiting for them to put Naga in there. I love the Naga. One of my favorite races ever.

I doubt Naga can be put in as a playable race until they are cured, even then, they'd only be the Elves.

What? How could they not be a playable race? They are still very big enemies in the lore. Until we stop them, I doubt we'd ever be able to play as them.
