I'm currently watching Gladiator. One of my all time favorites, easily. Love this film. Anywho. I am sitting here and being hit with music so familiar, it is making the epic battle scene in the beginning feel out of place. This is the song. Listen to the beginning minute or so and then skip forward to the 5:50 mark. Can you see why it is making it feel out of place? How about now?The bastard made the epic battle music made for Gladiator, the theme song for the last two Pirates movies. I know, I know. Gladiator came first. But, that music is now widely associated with the Pirates series, and makes Gladiator feel out of place. Damn you, Hans Zimmer!!

Should probably be in the Music board...
But yes, I agree. He writes some brilliant music, but once he reused it, he lost a lot of respect in my eyes.

Nice. All though this pissing you off somewhat boggles my mind.

Nice. All though this pissing you off somewhat boggles my mind. It keeps throwing me off. I hear this music, and I expect to see the Black Pearl, not Russel Crowe running into battle with a dog. And, Lucifer, I figured it was about the movies equally as much as it was about the music so I put it in here. Oh well.

I just hope these sort of things don't happen with Modern Warfare 2. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to his work in it.

It's slower and a bit of a difference pattern in Gladiator. You know it's the same composer, but they're different enough for me to tell apart.

They're clearly different, but whereas you can listen to pretty much anything by John Williams and know it's him, you don't listen to Harry Potter and think of Star Wars. You listen to Harry Potter and think of John Williams (even I did before I knew it was him). But now, you watch Gladiator and you don't think Hans Zimmer, you think of Pirates of the Caribbean because they're that similar. Or at least I do, as does Josh.

It's exactly the same with the epic piece by Harold Faltermeyer, and his Axel F theme to Beverly Hills Cop. Now, thanks to Clock, the piece in now associated with "Crazy Frog".

That is nothing like Axel F. oO They're both staccato beats but that is about it... EDIT: Soooo. Lucifer just pointed out that I read that wrong. Fail on my part.
