Since I don't think we need to have four images of the same "QJ" look all over one post, I won't repost my images. Just look at my avatar/signature.
It took me a bit, but I finally got it the way I wanted. Only thing I don't know if I like is my signature. Feels empty. Thoughts?

I think the text looks perfect, and I agree the signature looks empty. But that's just because it's flat black. I think just making the back look like some kind of reflective surface would make it perfect. Not shiny like a car but maybe textured glass over black paper? Basicaly a soft focus shine. Or maybe make it look like light is shining down on it through water. Sort of like this. But keep it black. That's a little more over the top but it would be pretty cool in my opinion.

Hah clever use of that "J", looks good. As for the signature I like the simple look, maybe try a soft lighting around the center (in the background).
