I've been coding CSS lately using <div>, <span> etc and although it took a while to get used to it, my website loads fast and furious now!
Though I still don't get why many people prefer coding their website in full CSS rather than XHTML, how come? What are the advantages of CSS over XHTML?

XHTML / HTML is used to display data. CSS is an extension made for html / xhtml to format data.
Those using CSS are merely following what the languages were really designed for.

CSS can be used to simplify the page load because of all the tables and properties that must load.

Actually XHTML discourages the use of inline property assigning, making CSS go right along with it. I don't really see how there is a versus. Maybe between CSS/(X)HTML and just HTML.

Explains why so many more things are deprecated in XHTML.
