its a good way to advance your coding skills in OOP if you try and make some extensions for it... they like them to be in OOP especially if your submitting them, using classes for extensions also makes it easier to update them too... not only that if you take a look into the extension files you can learn how easy it is to make too.
vanilla really is the new future of forum software.

I like Forumotion.com. Its more user friendly, has more codes, and their is more you can do with mulitple skins and such. I have been on a few invision free boards, and they were okay. But they are complicated and fustrating, not very user friendly. So I generally do not join invision free boads, prefering good old Forumotion.
