I think we had a topic like this before, but I don't really feel like actually looking for it so why not make a new one. Despite how awesome video games can be (well the good ones) there's always something annoying thrown in by the developers or something you just think is stupid.
--accidentally selecting "yes" when a NPC asks you if you want his ten minute speech about how to move with the analog stick repeated --no save points between a ridiculously hard dungeon and its boss --no save points between a ridiculously long cutscene and the ridiculously hard boss that follows --thousands of ammo clips and no health packs when you need 'em --games that have stylish moves and combos, but are way less effective than simple button mashing --checkpoints where you don't need them --no checkpoints where you do need them --backtracking to and fro for a meaningless task (exception: Metroid Prime games handle that well) --stealth games where you want to be sneaky but you get frustrated and blow everything to pieces (y helo thar Hitman games) --most water levels --escort missions, I wish I could meet escort missions in real life so I could punch him in the face --timed escort missions, escort mission's inbred cousin --when you have to go around a small obstacle like a fence or a one-foot wall and travel past ten minutes of area to get to the other side --timed puzzles --rubber-band/changing difficulty throughout the course of a game
Also, more games should have a new game+ option, but that's a different topic.
Yeah, I think I'm done for now. Share your annoyances.

- Games that add voices that sound like someone was coughing into a microphone, like WindWaker! - Cliffhanger games that never get a sequel - Cliffhanger games that do get a sequel that is of a completely unrelated plot/is actually a prequel - Games where you can't adjust the camera and are forced to stare through a wall to see where you are, because that's obviously possible. You got most of mine.
