Yes, despite many rumors of E3 being gone forever and after much dispute, the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo is back again, although at a different date than its usual May outing. Instead of being a week-long trade show, E3 will only be held from July 10-13, and will only consist of people actually involved in the industry in some way; invites only, otherwise. There will be a public trade show, Entertainment for All, or E for All, held from October 18-21 this year, but the old E3 we all used to know is no more. I'll be recapping stuff here, but if people want to make separate topics you're more than welcome to. I can just link to them from here. Right now not much has happened, and to be honest I don't expect this year to have that much news. Last year was huge, partly due in fact to two as-of-yet-unreleased consoles showing their stuff and since the show was public, too. This year is definitely scaled down. You can look up stuff yourself, too, from GameSpot and IGN. I'm sure there are other sites, too, but these usually have the most solid coverage. e3.gamespot.com/www.ign.com/index/e3/2007/ ____ News ¯¯¯¯• Microsoft Conference Summary• Nintendo Conference Summary• Sony Conference Summary• Talks about MGS4 not staying a PS3-exclusive (again) in the works-->Kojima still says MGS4 will only debut on the PS3, coming worldwide in '08 • PS3 price drop officially confirmed, 80 GB version announced; NA-only so far• Special Halo-themed Xbox 360 to launch with the arrival of Halo 3• More Xbox Live Arcade games to hit the market, including Sega support• DVD board game Scene It? to come to 360 with unique, weird, and suggestive Wii-like controller• Disney movies to be available for download on Xbox Live• Wii Zapper attachment announced, with support for titles like Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles• Wii Fit announced; weird-ass/creepy exercise-type game using some kind of motion board -- definitely not for the hardcore gamer crowd• Konami's press event summary; Kojima criticizes new E3 format• PSP "Lite" announced; slimmer, faster loading times, plays video now...and UMD's, still• Super Mario Galaxy coming November 12• Super Smash Bros. You guys can post here, you know. =P Anyway, I thought E3 was pretty lame this year. Sony's conference was surprisingly better than the RIIIIIDGE RAAACERRRR fiasco last year, especially with Chewbacca coming on stage to, uh..."help" announce the slim PSP. But overall, yeah, not that good. Not that I was expecting something awesome, since this was to be expected what with the downscaling. Then again, we still have a couple days for companies to show their stuff, so maybe we'll be surprised. Anyway, I think I'm done. I was gonna post hands-on articles but I figured no one really wants to read what a game's like when we have videos in this day and age. ...Thoughts?

I thought Wii fit was actually looking pretty cool. I kind of want to try it out. And what was the name of that eye training game with the base ball? I think Nintendo mentioned that it was already available to the masses in Japan, and that it would be coming to the states soon. Can someone give me the name of that, cause I kind of wanted to get another look at that. For me, it's hard to believe that there is a video game that can actually help your eye-sight seeing as how they have been seizure inducing for a long time now and have been why so many kids are called four eyes. My favorite things I saw there were Mario Galaxy, MGS4, and a whole bunch of the first party Nintendo games, as well as RE for the Wii. And is it just me, or did it seem that Nintendo was losing some of their 3rd party support to the PSP. For example, if no one really understands my question: they were showing a bunch of games like Castlevania and Sonic, which used to be for hand helds like the GBA. And was that whole TV output feature on the old PSP as well? It kind of seemed to me that Sony is kind of trying to make the PSP match the DS, or at least keep up with it, especially now that they introduced 'slim'. I got excited when Nintendo announced their Mario Kart online for Wii, I think that's going to really help out with their online play, especially now that battle is online. But will it live up to the DS version, which they claimed to be one of the best Mario Karts ever? I also, kind of found in rather interesting how Sony just 'so happened' to now be all about 'games that the whole family can enjoy'. I thought that was Nintendo's concept from the start.

windwaker, I don't remember any baseball game. If you're talking about the one where the Mii character is headbutting soccer balls, that's part of Wii Fit. If not, I must have missed it, and I can't find a link either. Castlevania and Sonic have been on Nintendo handhelds for the most part, but the Sonic game I think you're talking about is just a sequel to Rivals on the PSP (which was a PSP franchise to start with), but the Castlevania game is a remake of Rondo of Blood with the original RoB and Symphony of the Night packed in. But Sony "borrowing" ideas from Nintendo isn't really new. Last year everyone was whispering here and there about motion control in the Sixaxis. Nintendo better get their online play all down and ready by the time Brawl comes out, though. I won't be able to do anything about it if they don't, but I'll act pretty mad. Mukei, are you talking about FF13 or the other four or so FF sequels/remakes they were showing at E3? =P Then again I can't find trailers for them either, just hands-on articles.

Oh it's a DS game. I thought it was something related to Wii Fit. I don't remember even seeing any other DS news. I mean it's selling well so maybe it doesn't need any right now, but some game trailers or hands-on or even announcements would've been nice. Or maybe there were announcements and I didn't notice 'em. I don't know.

I kind of wished that Nintendo had done something to get everyone really exited, at the end of the conference though. Like they did that one year when the announced the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I think it was in '04 or '05. I thought Mario Kart looked amazing by the way, and that little Wii Wheel looks awesome!
