I had a little idea and a little time to boot, so I figured I should do one more big thing before school starts and you guys never see me again. Basically, a little tournament. What happens is, you guys come in here and nominate characters from games, I make a bracket out of it through BracketMaker, we vote, and one character comes out as the winner. Did I steal this idea from GameFAQs? Probably. What do you guys get? I honestly have no idea, but I was thinking this. Once we get nominations over with and the bracket up, everyone can place a bet on who they think the winner of the contest will be. According to who's closest, you'll get the prize. Or maybe everyone could make a separate bracket to predict the winner, and get points based on matches they got correct (y helo thar gamefaqs). I'll be honest and say I haven't figured everything out now, but for now all you have to focus on is nominating your favorite video game characters. How many can you nominate? Ideally, I'd like to make either a 32- or 64-character bracket, but realistically we should shoot for 32. So you can nominate between 5-10 characters, no more, no less. Characters can be nominated more than once, and in fact, this will be encouraged as characters with more nominations receive a higher seed ranking in the bracket. If there's a tie I'll have to put bias in and decide the seed ranking for myself. This is all just a popularity contest, not who would win in a fight. I'd also like to get nominations in by next week. Also, besides just nominating characters, if you could suggest ideas on the tournament itself, prizes, and anything else, you'll get a high five from me if your idea's good. gogogogonominations =O

For my nominations, I must choose the 5 weirdest things/people from the weirdest game I have ever played. Hmmm, let's see... I will choose.... ~ Gordon Freeman, Half-Life Series ~ Q-Bert, from that weird, crack-induced, game series ~ Dash Rendar, Shadows of the Empire ~ Joey, the fat kid from Arcade America ~ That weird-ass triangle-ship thingy from Geometry Wars Will that do?

Could be from anything. I'll even accept joke nominations like Scorpion's if need be. As for everyone else, 5-10 characters. Meaning you can always edit your nominations to add more. But uh, Fredy, I'd like at least five if possible.

Like bowser in a cool black mask making his eyes white (like batman) and we could make him "Bowzero"
Peach all covered in black mist and make her well "Zero Woman"
And the arch nemesis is The guy francis from super paper mario all like grey and he could be "Evil Zero"

Video game characters only. That means licensed characters from comics, movies, etc. who were in video games don't count. I also looked up "Bandit Keith" and that's not happening. So do you want me to include Pac-Man or not?  Everyone else's entry is fine, I think, but remember you can always edit your nominations to include up to ten characters. I'd like nominations to end by this weekend or so, that way I could start up the tourny then.

Yeah, but Yu-Gi-Oh wasn't originally a video game, it was that anime/manga/card game/whatever else first.
