Links just aren't as 800 x 600 friendly as they used to be.This is kinda old news but I forgot to mention it. Jeff Gertsmann, who worked for GameSpot, was fired, but the whole big deal about the thing was that it was over the low review he gave for Kane and Lynch, which was heavily advertised by Eidos on GameSpot/CNET, and for the "tone" it had. Most places gave it a pretty similar score, but obviously weren't endorsed by Eidos. The review is linked in the article and you can watch it if you want. If it was for his previous reviews too, whatever, but if it's just because of that one game...that's pretty low, and although it makes sense financially, kind of makes you wonder if there's more "corruption" and how honest reviews really are. Gaming mags have been known to be biased for a while, and websites have been speculated to be so too, but there hasn't been much evidence towards sites...I guess 'til now. GameSpot confirmed it but (obviously) didn't say why he was fired. Hm.

I'd start a blog and tell the whole story, unless that would somehow invalidate severance pay (if he has any).

Personally, that's why I trust user reviews more then a professional review. I obviously read more than one of both, but user reviews typically are better (minus the grudges people may hold.)

Yeah, but when you have sift through crap like 10/10 best game ever gameplay is good, really fun sound good sometimmes i hum songs catchy story good i don't relaly remember but it was intresting summary: buy this game it might suck but it's realy good you won't regret it ...it's kind of time consuming. Plus some users are obviously biased for or against a series/genre. But, when you have stuff like this happening in professional reviews, I agree, you need to look at both to get some good judgment of what you're looking for.

Well, there's usually some well known reviewer for free reviews that you can look at for most games. They're typically fairly honest.
