Considering you were limited in what you were working with, it's not bad. Sam doesn't blend in very well though, unfortunately. I do like the overall effect though.

this is some pretty decent work. it would look better if you made the whole tag in grayscale. moving the render more towards the center will also help make it more eye-catching. also, try feathering the render. it will help it blend in some more. add a light source and some shadowing. this should help you out some.
overall, this does have some potential.
