This has got to be 2008's best first person shooter. I've been watching the trailers Ubisoft has been releasing and I'm really impressed with the new engine that's powering the game. That, and it takes place in Africa. I can't remember any shooter taking place there. See for yourself.

RE5 looks like it's gonna take place in Africa. A dark Africa with super infected villagers.
I'll be looking forward to watching more trailers because trying to install it on my computer would probably cause it some physical harm.

It does look interesting. I haven't had a chance to play the first game yet, though I really do want to.

It does look interesting. I haven't had a chance to play the first game yet, though I really do want to. Yeah, for its time Far Cry was definitely pretty advanced visually. The story was tolerable, but not amazing. I think if you preorder Far Cry 2 on Steam you can get an instant download of the first game after the purchase. I'm not sure if that's deal over or not, though.
