Hey guys, here's something you guys might not exactly do... Do you guys have an emulator? What an emulator is is pretty much a free download of a game system where you can play games, as long as you actually own the real system and game. If you guys have a N64 or a SNES, those are I believe the best (and the only) ones out there, as you don't have to make any conversions. Try ZSNES for SNES, and Project64 for N64. They are really cool. Right now, I'm playing one of my favorite SNES games, Secret of Mana, on my computer, a portable SNES player. Cool? If you guys want one, I'll be happy to provide links if you don't know what to do. Just be sure you actually own one of the SNES or N64 and some games in order to do this, unless you want to break the law. Oh, and just to add on, in some games (like Super Mario World/SNES), there are forums that "hack" their own SMWs, meaning they created their own Super Mario World games and fields. YouTube that if you want some examples. Well, that's enough to give you the lo-downs. Thoughts? J

I don't think it's quite in line with the proboards tos to talk about roms dude. But I do have a question,
"I'm playing one of my favorite SNES games, Secret of Mana, on my computer, a portable SNES player. Cool?"
I'm not sure portable is the right word lol.

Well... it's "portable" if he's using a laptop. LOL. But emulation isn't all that new. It's actually at its decline now. Sometimes, I still play some VBA when I get really bored in class. Although, it'd be pretty much interesting if there was a fully working PSP Emulator like how ZSNES and VBA works perfect. That'd be something new to talk about and might revive the emulation scene.

The whole "you can have ROMs as long as you own the game" spiel kept being circulated around the years but it's never been true. ROMs are pretty much illegal no matter what.
On most forums though you can talk about emulators and the like as long as no links are given. I haven't used emulators in a few years. I will say they made FFTA run at a much faster pace. I don't think I could've played it otherwise

The whole "you can have ROMs as long as you own the game" spiel kept being circulated around the years but it's never been true. Yeah, couldn't agree more. It's just something ROM sites put up in their disclaimers so they won't get sued. But it wasn't that effective. Some big sites have already closed down.
