I mean I'm going to goddamn college next year and I'm not prepared man. People I know are like, oh I'm gonna spend four years in criminal justice and then work an internship and then go work for the FBI, and I'm just wondering how you managed to plan all that out already. rararggh What majors/jobs are in demand right now, or jobs that are relatively economy-proof? Someone help me out here =/

Some people just... know. For example I know that I'm going to major in graphic design and minor in business. I didn't do any research on that, I just... thought of it one day.
Don't look for an economy-proof job; you wont find one unless you become a priest. Instead, look for a job that you'll be at least semi-happy doing. Life is a lot easier if you enjoy what you do.

I'm gonna start dishing out internet beatings if people keep it up with this 4chan shit, I swear.

a priest? hmmmm
But that's the problem. I don't know. I don't know what I like, I don't know what I want to do. That "follow your heart" mantra doesn't really apply to me here.

The easiest way though to start is to try different things out at school, and then figure out what you like doing. But then though, you need to break it down. (Example: If you like Science, what kind of science?). Then, you might want to get some help from a counselor at your school for help.

I don't really know what I'm doing either.
I mean I'm on the computer too much, and not doing anything productive really, I need to be on PS more if I'm to be on mah compy.
I've got a huge list of things I want to do, but no drive to accomplish them.

Good ideas, but this is stuff I should've done like four years ago. What DO YOU WANT TO DO with your life? Stop yelling at me mang I don't know And Fredy, I'm not gay for pay. sorry broski. But on a serious note I guess I'll sign up for some type of engineering. It seems like a lot of work since you don't really see engineers going out on campus since they're in their dorms doing problem sets all day, but I'll give it a shot. Seems like a good degree to have, and I don't want to make a mistake and pick something like communications. I don't know if any of you guys have any engineering insight, but if you do posts would be appreciated. Also any links listing what majors are in demand. My search engine skills must be terrible because I can't find any.

SO, ask on Yahoo Answers, maybe they could be helpful.

I'm kinda in the same boat, but I'm only a sophomore in highschool. What is one thing, that no matter what you always enjoy doing? Or what skills do you have that you think you could apply to a job?
I'm a good argue-er and I can apply facts to back myself up, so I have considered a lawyer. Still, I could also be a broadcaster or some type of announcer and the list goes on. =p
You have to find out what you are good at and then try to find a job from there.

I'm in the same boat, except, I just know I want to do engineering... among other things. I've got 6-7 things on my list. It's brutal. Maybe take some personality tests. They can give you a good idea. I know CollegeBoard.com has some stuff like that. *shrugs* It might be helpful.

Is it that you can't split between your interests or you just don't have any? I'm more or less like Chris, got a dozen things i'm really interested in, so I decided i'd go for whatever payed best. Seems ideal if I want to move to other things later on.
