I don't mind the UI, I just thing the 'rating' (and I use the term loosely) system is flawed. Google have a habit of releasing features they think are cool without listening to the community. In my opinion, YouTube is no longer a video upload site, it's a commercial dominated, mass media market for companies like ABC, Warner, CBS, etc. and a breeding ground for talentless wannabes like nameless reformed Britney Spears fans...

The common user is now an afterthought, tucked away in a corner and forgotten.

Besides the Like feature, I modded YouTube to look like that months and months ago myself. x_O

I agree apart from the graphics, they've not improved anything, just reordered it and cluttered up the UI to make superchannels stand out from the likes of whoever. Something wich will get progressively worse over time - Google won't admit to it, but mark my words...

looks like i still have the star rating system active too

but although i don't usually rate videos myself, i look at the star ratings to determine whether i want to watch a video or not... and I never liked the like/dislike thing on facebook, but that's only because you get spammed with notifications after every reply to a post

guess well see how this plays out, maybe there's more too it in the long run (after all, the like/dislike system works well for stumbleupon)

I never randomly search for videos. I always know exactly what I am looking for and it is usually either a music video, concert video, or movie trailer.

I still have the old layout too. Kinda close rollout if you ask me.

I think the like/dislike system might be nice, but why not combine both? >.< I'm sure there'd be some happy medium that they could do.

The new UI lets you search and keep the video playing.. Love it!

I like the UI, it's just the fact you can't see the rating 'til you rate. It really sucks.

I personally dislike this UI. It just seems sort of uninviting in my opinion, almost like it's too clean. But yeah, it sucks how you can't see the rating until after you rate.
