I've only sprained my ankle a few times (as opposed to the fact I roll or twist it nearly daily) and it took about... a week to heal last time. I was still up and active during the time too.

And may I ask what the heck you were doing? o.o I hope you weren't like some of our stupid freshmen this year who decided a cartwheel race would be exciting and then missed 3/4 of the track season.

That sounds awesome. But no, sprained it while playing basketball. I've twisted them a lot but never had something like this. Oddly enough I think the shoes made it worse because it was one of those hi-tops that are supposed to guard against ankle injuries, but it made the ankle bend more.

The urgent care doctor I went to said to just keep it compressed and iced and all that, but I've been reading that after the first three or so days you should try to move and heat it up, so I'll change to that for now. Thanks for the advice.

I mean, I've read up online and they say it could take up to a month or more. That's...not really what I wanted to hear. It's almost been a week since I sprained it, and it sucks just waiting for it to heal. Can't go to the gym, can't go to many places really since I'm on crutches and this thing they called a camwalker (some big removable boot/splint thing).

How long did it take to heal if you've ever sprained something? Maybe I'll limp by the drugstore and see if they have any magic ligament repair cream. On sale.

I can't claim credit for this discovery, I'm just trying to spread the word and let the people be informed.

Hint 1: it's a former Flash game that was remade as a downloadable game for the PS3.

Why not just throw the question out and put a new one in with the same value? That was no dispute can be made.

Then I'd have to come up with another $2000-like question. I think Ron's answer is right because it comes from IGN themselves, and is the closest thing we have to solid evidence for an answer.

Miscellaneous -- $1600
This website fired one of their reviewers under pressure from a sponsor due to a poorly-rated game

Probably. But that doesn't help me pick an answer. On one hand there were at some point in time up to six websites (which still haven't been verified though), and on the other hand I mentioned channels because I had assumed they were all separate systems.

I'll get back on this later. In the meantime you guys can help me combat my indecisiveness and pick the next question since Matt did get the previous one right (FF8). I've taken away the $2000 in the meantime.

I'm just going off a hunch, but did you give out karma this week? A little birdie wanted me to ask you.

...I should probably stop getting my answers off of Wikipedia. That's where I came up with the original six, but then again there's no source or citation to that or the other gaming wiki which says five. Ron's link comes straight from the horse's mouth and I'm more inclined to believe that, even though it only mentions N64.com.

Are there any other links that can cite something like this?

edit: I've been reading the other article more closely and I think some of the original six websites were part of gaming magazines, and not what would later become IGN's channels.

And Corrupt, I'd prefer if you didn't use online resources but no one's going to burn you to a stake if you do so don't worry about it.

Titles -- $1600
The very addicting Triple Triad minigame was part of this title

Another easy one. I was writing some of these back when people couldn't answer questions (either because of difficulty or just 'cause they couldn't read directions), so if I come up anything some of the future clues may be changed.

That is correct, and you get five points bringing your total to 54.

Ok, that's a little creepy that Matt came online one minute after I posted that with the right answer. But we don't take away points for odd behavior in this contest, so Matt gets another $2000 and extends his lead.

Miscellaneous -- $2000
Before IGN merged and began including separate channels for their systems on one site, the company was originally divided into this amount of individual websites

Let the guessing begin.

?

And if so, why? What keeps you here, and do you think you'll stay? If not, what might make you leave, life or the actual board?

Post here, and around six months from now I'll look back to this topic and see how many of you will still be here. Unless I die or get amnesia or something I'm pretty sure I'll be here to check.

It's just a little experiment. From what I've seen most people don't stay more than a few months unless they're staff, who tend to come and go. That doesn't just go for this forum, but boards in general. I don't mean to come off as some asshole questioning your commitment level or whatever, it's just a little curiosity test.

so post prz for the greater good

For whatever reason, for almost all Kirby titles, the one on the American cover is always smoldering with rage, while the Japanese Kirby has a pretty carefree, happy-go-lucky expression. I'm guessing they probably did this to make Kirby look more hardcore than just a regular pink puffball normally would, in hopes that it would appeal to the average American consumer.

I present to you Exhibit A, Kirby Squeak Squad:

Japan -- image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/4/933044_75969_front.jpg
America -- image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/4/933044_75607_front.jpg

Your honor, if I may now present Kirby Air Ride:

Japan happy Kirby -- image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/7/589687_24371_front.jpg
U.S. I'm gonna tear your shit up Kirby -- image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/7/589687_front.jpg

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

Japan pretty happy to be in a nightmare Kirby -- image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/3/561703_23208_front.jpg
U.S. who is your daddy and what does he do Kirby -- image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/3/561703_45152_front.jpg

I rest my case.

Visiting my crazy mother in the hospital when her heart condition was acting up/surgery. And yeah, I don't really like hospitals.
