So do you all buy into the hype of scary places from the media? Like most of Mexico because of the drug cartel issues? I live about two hours away from Tijuana (Mexican border city with San Diego) and honestly I am beyond curious about it. Everyone says it is not safe and points to the drug cartels and corrupt police. Should this be a legitimate reason to write it off? Juarez that borders El Paso is also considered unsafe. Someone at work said they would never go to El Paso just because it borders El Paso. Do you think there is any spillover to the US border cities? The stats and media act like not, but do you just think that might be because it's just not reported? What about cities in the US with bad reps like Baltimore and Detroit? Do you think they are overhyped. Baltimore was very much like any other city in the sense it had good parts and bad parts... Thoughts?

Yes, back is a relative word I suppose haha Eric, right now, I live on the border of Monrovia/Arcadia in an Extended Stay hotel my company provided. I live basically right next to Pasadena and 20 minutes out of downtown LA. How about yourself? If it works out I stay here, I will start having to look for an apartment and all that fun stuff.

Yes, I fully intend on staying in Cali, just wanted to see what others would say. I don't really care much for PA or MD. People say they are green and beautiful, but Washington and Oregon destroyed that argument for me.

I joined the crowd and moved to California as well. Like Eric, I too am living in LA. We all should hang out sometime! I might be sent to Colorado for a bit in a few months, which I wouldn't mind or back to Maryland, which I would definitely mind. I am on a rotational software program where I am supposed to go permanent at one place eventually.

Hey 'yall, it has been awhile! Anyway, I stumbled upon the site looking for how I did something in an old script, then I stumbled upon someone inquiring about something about another old script, and now here I am posting a topic in the cool Convention Center.

Anyway, what is your favorite US state? Mine is California. I moved here on rotation from work, and it is a big improvement over the other two states I lived in, Pennsylvania and Maryland. It has mountains, desert, beach, technology, and just about anything you can think of. I moved to the part of Cali you wouldn't think of first when you thought of programmer, Los Angeles. Anyway, I may have the opportunity to do another rotation in Colorado or could be sent back to Baltimore or of course stay here in the long haul. I am originally from Philly, and that's where most of my family and friends are but, I like LA a lot more than Philly and Baltimore. Ideas on what you would do in my situation?

So what are your favorite states? Do you live there? Is being close to family and friends important to you and would have you live in a state you don't like as much?

That's horrible. I hate when people just don't understand. I have had weird things going on with girls that never seem to understand but not quite like this. I had a girl spend seven to ten hours a day in my house only to tell me she was embarrassed to be seen with me. Like that made no sense and killed my self confidence for the longest while.

I am a programmer btw. I am not Asian though, but people tell me I look Asian. lol

Both multiple choice and true/false are annoying. Give a me a nice, old subjective test any day that I could BS. I can BS just about anything.

This reminds of a similar story that happened to me the other night. I was out with this girl by a fountain that supposedly you weren't supposed to go to after sunset. We both didn't know. Well I had a lot of lemonade among some other things and really had to piss. I told her, and she was like go behind the bushes. I saw two bikes back there. I was like it's strange people left their bikes here this late at night as it was almost 12. Anyway, I do my business, and we go back to holding each other. Two random guys riding around in bikes appear about ten minutes later and tell us we're not supposed to be here and need to leave. They were the police, so basically I pissed inches away from their bikes lol

I like text messages. They're so much better than talking unless it's a long convo. In that case, I would like to talk on the phone.
